Pay your utility bills at any SCB ATM

Pay your utility bills at any SCB ATM

Seychelles Commercial Bank customers will be able to pay their Public Utilities Corporation’s water and electricity bills at any of the bank’s ATM on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.

For customers, this represents another more convenient way for them to pay their bills without having to go to the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) payment counters, particularly at month end, when the queues are very long.

Seychelles Commercial Bank (SCB) customers do not need to register to avail of the service. They will only need their SCB debit card and their PUC customer number, which they will find on their utility bill.  On the ATM, after inserting their card and keying in their PIN, the cardholder will need to select the Bill Payment option and they will be guided to provide the customer number and the amount for the bill that they wish to pay.  An SCB cardholder may pay any bill in any person’s name, provided that they have the PUC customer number of the person whose bill they will be paying.

“The cardholder will not bear any charges for making use of the ATM Bill Payment service; which coupled with the convenience of making the payment at any hour of the day, makes the service very attractive to those who find it a real hassle to queue up at every month end to pay their bills,” writes a communiqué from SCB.

This is not the first time that SCB and PUC have partnered for the benefit of their customers. Presently, any PUC customer, whether a customer of SCB or not, may pay their water and electricity bills at SCB branches at Anse Aux Pins, Grand Anse (Praslin) and La Digue by account debit (if SCB customer), cash or cheque. This service is offered free of charge for any PUC customer.

The bank said it successfully tested the ATM Bill Payment service with their staff before launching the service to their mutual customers.
